2016
A family porch. A dream. A few crochet hooks.
In 2016, during one of the most challenging periods in Venezuela's history, we made a decision that would change everything.
With very limited resources, hiring a team wasn't possible. So the first Coccoloba bikinis were crocheted by family members on the porch of a house.
There were no production lines, no large workshop, and no investors.
Only thread, patience, craftsmanship, and the belief that something handmade in Venezuela could be appreciated anywhere in the world.
Created in Venezuela. Made for the world.
As the local market faced one of its most difficult moments, Marian chose to look beyond Venezuela.
Her goal was not simply to sell bikinis. It was to create a handcrafted product capable of standing alongside the world's leading swimwear brands.
Quality became our language.
Little by little, women from different countries discovered Coccoloba, and what began as a small family project started traveling across oceans.
Today, our bikinis have reached women throughout North America, Europe, Australia, Latin America, and many other parts of the world.
2017
Our first workshop
As demand increased, so did our team.
In 2017, we opened our first workshop and welcomed our first artisans.
Every woman who joined Coccoloba learned the same techniques, the same quality standards, and the same attention to detail.
From the beginning, Marian believed something very simple:
Every bikini should look identical, regardless of who made it. That philosophy still defines our work today.
The women behind coccoloba
Behind every bikini is a woman with years-sometimes decades-of experience.
Many of our artisans have crocheted for most of their lives.
What was once a personal hobby has become a meaningful way to continue creating, sharing their talent, and doing what they genuinely love.
Each stitch reflects patience, dedication, and craftsmanship that no machine can replace.
Meet Elizabeth
For more than ten years, Elizabeth has been part of Coccoloba.
Today, at 83 years old, she continues coming to the workshop every day with the same passion she had when she first joined us.
For Elizabeth, crochet is much more than a craft.
It is purpose.
It is independence.
It is joy.
Her hands have helped create hundreds of bikinis worn by women around the world
She reminds us every day that true craftsmanship has no age.
OUR PROMISE
We may never be the fastest.
We may never be the biggest.
But we will always remain faithful to the craftsmanship that brought us here.
Every Coccoloba bikini is made with patience, precision, and purpose.
